Alnoor Bhimani is an LSE alumnus (PhD in Accounting, 1992), and is currently Professor of Management Accounting at LSE. He researches and speaks widely on management control, digitalisation, social start-ups, and on economic growth and governance issues. Alnoor’s most recent monograph is Accounting Disrupted: How Digitalization is Changing Finance (2021). He is currently completing a manuscript on Entrepreneurship in South Asia.
Inaugural Director 2015-2020
Mukulika Banerjee is Associate Professor in Anthropology; her current research interests are on the cultural meanings of democracy. Her most recent publication is Why India Votes? (2014) in which she explores the reasons behind India's rising trends of voter participation. She is currently completing a manuscript based on 15 years of engagement with a village in India to explain the sources of democratic thinking in Indian social life.
