Sudan Blog Series

Call for Contribtions

Despite significant efforts by Sudanese and others (from academics and artists to activists and volunteers) to raise awareness since the 2018-19 uprising, much of the global understanding of the conflict in Sudan and the country's situation today and in recent years remains superficial.

Media coverage has been scarce and has largely centred on the conflict, without exploring the detail and complexity that are important in any country, and especially in a country passing through a prolonged period of political turmoil, violent conflict, and mass displacement. This blog series seeks to address this gap by amplifying the voices of Sudanese, Sudanese diaspora and others, and creating a platform for a more nuanced understanding from academic and intellectual perspectives.

We welcome blog contributions that address the conflict as well as other subjects pertaining to Sudan, such as employment, forced displacement, gender, humanitarian needs, migration and political participation.
