Are you a young refugee? We'd like to hear from you.

How do you use digital technologies? What are the best and worst things about smartphones, social media, and the internet more generally? This is an opportunity to share your insights with global experts on young people and technology, from the LSE.

And for taking part in the research you will get a £30.00 voucher. Make your voice count!

What will happen if you take part?

As London university researchers, we would love to interview you about what you do online, what devices you use, what you like or dislike, what you have learned about social media and how you cope, and what you think should be changed. Our conversation will take about an hour and will be friendly, confidential and anonymous. There are no right or wrong answers – we are just very interested in hearing about your experiences. We can arrange to meet at a place and time of your choice.

Who can take part?

Please get in touch if you are 12 to 18 years old and you or your family had to leave your original home and resettle in Britain.

How to take part?

If you meet the criteria above and are interested in participating, please, email us at: m.a.georgiou@lse.ac.uk

More about the project

We are conducting a research project called Youth Skills (ySKILLS). We want to explore children’ and young people’s use of the internet and different devices (like your phone or a computer) and what you think the positive and negative sides are. We want to learn from your insights to help others (like teachers, parents, or the government) to make the internet a safer and better place for everyone. We are conducting research in several countries in Europe, including UK.

The research project is funded by European Commission and received ethics approval from the LSE Research Ethics Committee (Ref 23512/30.07.2021).
