Kavya is a Research Associate at the Medical Technology Research Group in LSE Health since May 2024. She brings a unique blend of clinical experience and academic expertise to her role. With a dental degree from India, an MSc in Infectious Diseases from the University of Western Australia, and an MSc in Global Health Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science, Kavya possesses a deep understanding of healthcare systems and policy.
Prior to joining MTRG, Kavya's diverse experience included her role as a healthcare practitioner in India, Qatar, and Australia, as well as her consulting work as an International Development and Senior Market Access Analyst in London. Notably, Kavya secured a grant from UK Innovate and served as a Research Officer on a project at the Innovations department of the London School of Economics.
In her role as a Senior Market Access Analyst, Kavya collaborated with multiple pharmaceutical companies to analyse payer decision-making processes and facilitate access to new medicines across a wide range of countries, including low- and middle-income as well as high-income developed nations. Particularly, Kavya’s white paper on payer perceptions to policy approaches to address antimicrobial resistance (AMR), titled Man vs microbe: the fight against antimicrobial resistance was published in Pharmaceutical Market Europe in September 2023. Kavya's research interests include health policy, Health Technology Assessment (HTA), pricing, and reimbursement policies.
