LSE Council has approved the establishment of an institutional partnership with Fudan University, making it the School’s 7th such partner.
Fudan is highly rated – both within China and internationally - and is part of the elite C9 group of top research institutions.
Fudan represents a particularly good academic fit for LSE, and will strengthen LSE’s profile in the East China region and Shanghai, the largest city in the world with 24 million people.
LSE Health and Fudan's School of Public Health signed an MoU in November 2015 to work together on collaborative research, and the development of collaborative Executive education in hospital management.
A delegation from Fudan visited LSE in March 2016 to discuss collaboration and agree a research agenda. Focus areas are likely to include:
- out of pocket expenditure and utilisation
- private hospitals
- pharmaceuticals
- health insurance financing
- anti-microbial resistance
Whilst visiting LSE, Fudan academics also shared their current research interests at a public seminar on Chinese health policy.
