Taxation has been part of LSE since its foundation in 1895. Today the Taxation group is engaged in research on a wide range of topics in tax law and, more broadly, in taxation. The group engages with the wider tax community through its lively interdisciplinary programme of Taxation Seminars, Global Tax Symposia and PhD Global Tax Symposia, as well as other events and activities. Post-graduate study of tax law at LSE began over forty years ago as part of the oldest LLM tax programme in Europe. The Taxation programme in LSE's LLM continues this tradition, offering a broad range of innovative and academically challenging courses, including opportunities for PhD students.
