The launch event for the Centre for Analysis of Taxation (CenTax) took place last Monday (11 November 2025) in Parliament. CenTax is a new research centre co-hosted by LSE and the University of Warwick, led by Andy Summers and Arun Advani (Warwick), dedicated to improving public understanding of tax policy and helping to design a better tax system, by generating evidence that is rigorous and relevant to policymakers and the public.
Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury James Murray MP was the keynote speaker at a Parliamentary reception. MPs, peers, invited guests from tax and business think tanks, research groups and the media, and guests from the University of Warwick and the LSE gathered in the Attlee Suite in Portcullis House for the event, which was co-hosted by the APPG on Anti-Corruption and Responsible Tax.
