Study during your year abroad

Study at Sciences Po is focused around the study of six core disciplines: law, economics, history, political humanities, political science and sociology, and complemented by a regional specialisation in each campuses.

You must select one French language class and one sociology course. You may choose to add other courses but be aware that you will have to take the exams for these too.

By Sciences Po’s regulations, attendance to all classes is compulsory and you are expected to be active participants.

The 6 regional Sciences Po campuses offer a vibrant city feel with an authentic immersion in French culture and also host an engaged and animated student community that leads a full intellectual and extracurricular life. Students are encouraged to take part in numerous events - conferences, debates, artistic and sporting events and to initiate projects that engage with the wider community, often in collaboration with local institutions.

Please remember this important information from your programme regulations:

Students must pass all assessments set by Sciences Po in order to be eligible for the award of the degree.

Where a student fails an assessment they will be provided a resit either at Sciences Po at the end of the year abroad or when they are back in London at the start of the final year of the programme.
