Yarden is a PhD candidate in Environmental Policy and Development (EPD). Yarden’s research is focused on the political and social processes leading to the current era of ‘new-water’ production in Israel and its implications on water politics and society. Her research aims to create a detailed political ecology analysis of ‘new-water’ production and water governance in the Israeli context, using water security and securitisation as leading theoretical frameworks.
Yarden also holds an MSc in Environmental Policy and Regulation from LSE. Prior to arriving in London, Yarden was working as a Landscape Architect in Israel. She holds a BLA from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.
Apart from working on her research, Yarden is ta GTA at the Department of Geography and Environment where she teaches Undergraduate students on the Political Ecology of Development (GY328) and Global Environmental Governance (GY327).
In addition, she is working with the acclaimed climate policy expert and activist, Farhana Yamin, on research and activism projects concerned with climate and ecological justice.
