About me

Liqiao holds a master’s degree in MSc Urbanisation and Development from the Geography and Environment Department, LSE, with an MSc thesis about China’s infrastructure politics during COVID. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the Renmin University of China.

His research interests revolve around the political and economic mechanisms of Chinese urbanisation. His work specifically examines infrastructure politics, the temporality of urbanisation, and the dynamics of urban hierarchy in China. His PhD research is about the transformation of Chinese urbanism amidst the current crisis-ridden situation.
