On the occasion of the Chinese New Year of the Pig, CIBL supported and helped with the New Year Celebration events at the Headquarters of the Bank of England on 19 Feb 2019.
Employees at the Bank of England celebrated the New Year with a range of activities including Chinese cultural talks and musical recitals prepared by LSE Students, Chinese New Year song learning prepared by Dr. Xiang Hua, UK Director of CIBL, and also tea tasting, Chinese calligraphy, introductions of Chinese zodiac.
Bank of England is the earliest central bank in the world, which has huge influence in the banking system not only in the UK, but also Europe and other countries in the world. Our mission is to deliver monetary and financial stability for the people of the United Kingdom. CIBL successfully demonstrated China's traditional culture from all angles and the series of activities provided helped Bank of England employees appreciate and gain a greater understanding of Chinese culture, so as to pave the way for the further economic communication between UK and China.
在中国农历己亥新年之际，于2019年2月19日，伦敦商务孔子学院教工和英格兰银行总部员工一起欢度了充满激情和希望的新年伊始。在英格兰银行总部大楼，LSE的学生做了新年文化的介绍和音乐表演；英方院长项骅博士教大家唱新年歌；其他员工和志愿者提供了品茶，书法与中国12生肖的介绍。
