Dr Freedman died on 19 July 2005. You can find out more about Dr Freedman in her obituary. In her memory, we established the Haya Freedman Prize.
The prize is awarded annually for the best dissertation produced by a student on the MSc in Applicable Mathematics. The prize consists of £250 and a book chosen by the Department. The winner(s) of the prize are selected by the Sub-Board of Examiners
We hope that this is a positive way of remembering Dr Freedman, and also of rewarding our students for excellence.
