Student Opportunities


The India Observatory (IO) engages with LSE students in a number of ways including through funded support such as fellowships and internships. This page contains information about opportunities.

Internships

Jointly with LSE Careers, the IO administers the Tata Social Internship which offers LSE students the opportunity to undertake an 8 week project with the Tata Group in India. These projects have either a development, social enterprise, environmental, sustainable or CSR focus and involve a significant research element.

Past Internship

The Thailand Government Scholarship scheme was a partnership between the Royal Thai Embassy in London and LSE, giving students the opportunity to visit Thailand for up to two months to conduct any project of their interest on Thailand as part of their study programme at LSE. The Scholarship aimed to promote better understanding and knowledge of Thailand.

Societies

The IO supports student societies. These include the India Society and the Entrepreneurs Society. There are many student societies, details of which are available through the LSE Students' Union.

LSE SU India Society

The IO has supported various activities of the India Society since its inception. These include India Week, The Economic Forum for India at LSE and the LSE SU India Forum.
