To help make sense of this vital aspect of 21st century political economy, the Ralph Miliband Programme is joined by Helen Thompson to discuss how many of the defining dislocations of our contemporary world are best understood through the lens of energy politics.
Meet our speaker and chair
Helen Thompson (@HelenHet20) is Professor of Political Economy at the University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on the political economy of energy and the long history of the democratic, economic, and geopolitical disruptions of the twenty-first century. She is a columnist for the New Statesman and formerly a regular panellist on Talking Politics.
Robin Archer is the Director of the postgraduate programme in political sociology and the Director of the Ralph Miliband Programme at LSE.
