In this event, Marie Yovanovitch, former US ambassador to Ukraine, discussed her best-selling memoir, Russia’s war on Ukraine, and what the West needs to do next with Tomila Lankina and Peter Trubowitz.
Marie Yovanovitch is a Senior Fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and a non-Resident Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy, Georgetown University. Previously, she served as the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine (2016-2019), the Republic of Armenia (2008-2011) and the Kyrgyz Republic (2005-2008). She also served as the Dean of the School of Language Studies at the Foreign Service Institute.
Tomila Lankina is Professor of International Relations in LSE’s Department of International Relations whose research focuses on comparative democracy and authoritarianism, mass protests and historical patterns of human capital and democratic reproduction in Russia and other states.
Peter Trubowitz (@ptrubowitz) is Professor of International Relations and Director of the Phelan US Centre at the London School of Economics and Political Science and Associate Fellow at Chatham House.
