In May we welcomed two cohorts of our six-month Data Analytics Career Accelerator programme to LSE to network and meet key faculty. This programme, following a project-based approach to learning, introduces students to the core concepts of data analysis, and teaches them to develop fundamental data analytics competencies with relevance in the digital economy, designed in collaboration with our partner FourthRev. The event was hosted in our beautiful Shaw Library in LSE’s Old Building, and we were pleased to welcome 40 attendees who had either just completed or were about to complete the programme onto the LSE campus.

The attendees were welcomed by Dr James Abdey, Course Convenor and Academic Programme Coordinator, and congratulated on their successful completion or near completion of the programme. Mark Lester of FourthRev also spoke, and highlighted the excellent choice they have made by gaining competitive data and digital skills in high demand by leading employers.

It was heartwarming to hear stories from students who had already been able to change careers and secure data roles as a result of completing the course, whilst others had been able to progress with their current employers and gain more responsibilities within data management and reporting.
We very much look forward to welcoming future cohorts of our Career Accelerator learners onto campus for future networking events.
