The LSE Data Analytics Career Accelerator is a six-month programme designed in collaboration with FourthRev and LSE faculty from the Departments of Methodology and Statistics. Taught using Tableau, the world’s #1 analytics platform, the programme aims to accelerate students’ careers by teaching the fundamental data analytics competencies with immediate and long-term relevance in the digital economy.
“I’ve always had an interest in data, but I didn’t have the specific background and I found it really hard to find a job position in data analytics, so I said to myself “let’s make a strategic investment of time”. I wanted to reach a certain level of knowledge and I wanted it to be effective, I also wanted to build a network and have support. This course is very focussed on practical activities, and the support from FourthRev has been amazing in providing success managers and career coaches.” Eleonora Bacchi, Data Analytics Career Accelerator Learner
Being able to use Tableau is a skill which employers in the industry are looking for, and it is used for data exploration and visualisation on the Career Accelerator. The course also features input from leading technology companies, and students engage directly with industry tools and practise their use in project-based exercises which provides them with the skills and experience for using data analytics in their roles.
“With the world becoming ever more data-driven, a strong set of quantitative skills is invaluable in many of today’s careers. The ability to interrogate data also improves our understanding of the world which, in-turn, facilitates better decision-making.” Dr James Abdey, Associate Professorial Lecturer, Course Convenor & Academic Coordinator, LSE Data Analytics Career Accelerator
