The LSE-COLFUTURO Discovery Session will enable prospective graduate students from Colombia to find out more about study options at LSE and the generous funding offered in partnership with COLFUTURO.

The event will include an introductory presentation from Nathan Brennan, LSE Student Recruitment Officer, covering information about graduate study programmes, entry requirements, and how COLFUTURO financing can help fund your studies. You’ll also have the chance to submit your own questions to LSE and COLFUTURO during a Q&A session.

The event will take place online via Zoom.

Attendance is free of charge and does not form part of LSE or COLFUTURO’s selection process.

To attend the session, you will need to register in advance by clicking on ‘How can I attend?’. After registering you will receive a confirmation email from COLFUTURO which will include a Zoom webinar link. You will be able to access the event on the day via this link.

What is COLFUTURO?

COLFUTURO (Foundation for the Future of Colombia) is a non-profit organisation that aims to provide financial support and to increase access to postgraduate study abroad programmes for Colombian citizens. Since its founding in 1991, it has awarded over $720 million in funding to 20,000 Colombian students. Visit the COLFUTRO website for further information.

What funding is available?

Each year LSE part-funds a number of awards in conjunction with COLFUTURO.

COLFUTURO offers up to $50,000 as a loan to beneficiaries. Providing certain conditions are met, up to 80% of the loaned amount can be converted into a non-repayable scholarship.

LSE offers a 20% discount on the tuition fee for all COLFUTURO beneficiaries admitted to master's and doctoral programs. Additionally, two scholarships, covering the full cost of tuition fees, will be awarded to students of the COLFUTURO Semillero de Talentos programme

Visit the COLFUTURO website for further information.

Who is eligible?

COLFUTURO funding is available to Colombian nationals studying a one-year taught master's programme or three-year PhD programme at LSE.
