Drawing on cutting-edge research, Professor Edgar Whitley will discuss the technological and organisational hurdles that businesses encounter when integrating AI into their operations. You’ll gain an understanding of how AI can be used to drive innovation and enhance competitive positioning, while also examining the practical concerns companies must address to make this technology work for them and wider society.
This lecture will offer a taste of the research-driven education taking place at LSE, touching on some of the key questions that members of our community engage with and providing a glimpse into what it's like to be a student in the Department of Management. It’s an invaluable opportunity to explore how theory and practice come together at one of the world’s leading institutions for business and management studies.
After the lecture, you'll have the chance to ask questions about what it's like to study at LSE to Edgar and LSE alumni based in Thailand.

Meet the speaker
Edgar Whitley is Professor of Information Systems at LSE and is the faculty group lead for the Information Systems and Innovation Group in the Department of Management. He teaches a course on information systems available for LSE undergraduates and a specialist course on data governance and privacy for LSE MSc students. Find out more on Edgar's staff profile page.
