FAQs

Do I need to book to attend?

Advance booking is essential. Please refer to the information in the 'How can I attend?' box to select a registration slot and make your booking.

We recommend you refer to the online provisional Offer Holder Day programme and book your Offer Holder Day place before you arrange travel or accommodation.

Once you have booked a place at the Offer Holder Day you will be sent a confirmation email containing a QR code which you will be required to present on the day at registration.

Do I need to book departmental events or talks separately?

No, you do not need to book subject tasters, department drop-ins or general talks separately. You just need to book a registration slot. Seating in our talks will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so we advise arriving in good time as the most popular sessions do fill up quickly. Talks are repeated throughout the day to allow all students the opportunity to attend and recordings of the sessions will be made available online after the event.

Please note only offer holders will be admitted to the subject tasters. Due to space limitations, parents and other guests will be unable to attend, but are welcome to attend the department drop-in sessions.

Can I bring guests with me?

When booking a place you will be given the opportunity to book a place for one guest to accompany you. Space restrictions on campus mean that we are unable to accommodate more than one guest per student.

What time do I need to arrive and what time does the Offer Holder Day end?

You should arrive during the times specified in your chosen registration slot. The first registration slot opens at 9.30am and the last registration slot closes at 11:30am. Activities will be taking place between 9.30am-4.30pm. You do not need to stay for the full day – the programme has been designed to allow you to choose which activities you’d like to attend.

We recommend that you refer to our provisional Offer Holder Day programme to plan your day in advance.

Is there a quiet space on campus that I can go to at the Offer Holder Day?

The Faith Centre on the 2nd floor of Saw Swee Hock Student Centre will be open at the Offer Holder Day as a quiet, reflective space for students of all faiths and none.

Is a full programme of events available?

Yes, you can see our provisional Offer Holder Day programme. Please be aware that to reduce the environmental impact of the Offer Holder Day we will not be providing printed copies on the day.

How do I get to LSE, and where do I go when I arrive?

Holborn and Temple underground stations are a five to ten minute walk away from LSE.  Use our maps of LSE and directions to the campus to find your way to us. The TfL Journey Planner can help you find your way across London by tube, bus and train.

If you’re staying overnight in London, you may be interested in staying in an LSE hall of residence.

When you arrive at LSE, you should register before attending any other events. Details of the registration location will be contained in your booking confirmation email.

Can you help with the cost of travelling to the Offer Holder Day?

UK students living more than 50 miles away from the LSE campus may be eligible to apply for the LSE Travel Fund.

The LSE Travel Fund contributes towards the cost of standard rail or coach travel to and from the LSE campus for eligible prospective undergraduate students. Visit the LSE Travel Fund page to find out more about eligibility criteria and how to apply.

Is car parking available?

We recommend travelling to LSE by public transport as parking in the area is extremely limited.

See Westminster Council parking for up-to-date information on parking near LSE, and a map of disabled parking bays near LSE.

What should I bring with me to the Offer Holder Day?

Please bring your confirmation email containing the QR code. We can scan your code from a phone or tablet; you do not need to print the email.

Can I store my luggage?

We do not have storage facilities at LSE so you will be required to keep personal belongings with you at all times. Consequently, we would ask that you avoid bringing luggage with you. Mainline stations, such as London King’s Cross and London Waterloo, offer paid for left luggage facilities.

Is WiFi available?

Visitors will be able to access The Cloud WiFi. See Join the Cloud.

I can’t make it to the Offer Holder Day. Can I visit at another time?

You may wish to attend an Undergraduate Open Day, book a guided or self-guided campus tour, or attend a drop-in consultation with the Student Recruitment and Study Abroad team. See the Visit LSE page for information.

You can also experience LSE from home through our Virtual Undergraduate Offer Holder Day, LSE Discovery Sessions, Live Chat, student blogs, video diaries, public lectures and webinars.

Recordings of the sessions will also be made available online after the Offer Holder Day.
