MSc Economics and Management

Designed for students with a strong analytical and quantitative background, this degree will challenge your perspectives on the way firms and markets operate.

GRE/GMAT requirement

GMAT or GRE is required from all applicants. However an exemption will be made for current LSE students, and alumni, studying (or who have studied) Economics, Economic History, Management, Finance or Mathematics. Applicants who have been awarded or are currently studying the BSc in Economic History (without Economics) and BSc in Accounting and Finance will have to provide GMAT or GRE scores.

Each year we attract a diverse range of students from a wide variety of backgrounds and international locations, forming a close-knit academic community.

The programme is designed for pre-career or early-career graduates, and the majority of our applicants will have just completed their undergraduate bachelor’s degree. However we also welcome professionals with some work experience to bring a variety of experience to the classroom.

There is no fixed deadline. However, if you’d like to be considered for any funding opportunities, you must submit your application (and all supporting documents) by the funding deadline. See the fees and funding section below for more details.

Given the high level of academic performance expected from students, a significant amount of independent study and preparation is required to get the most out of the programme. All full-unit courses are assessed by three hour unseen examinations in the Spring Term. Half-unit courses can be assessed by two-hour unseen examinations, coursework assignments, class participation or group/individual project work.
