Supporting your transition to LSE

Transitioning from school to university is exciting, but it can also bring unique challenges and anxieties. The LSE Widening Participation team offers a wealth of support to targeted Offer Holders to support students through the process of transitioning to university.

Our transition support aims to ensure students navigate the process successfully, feel part of the LSE community and thrive socially, academically and practically at LSE once they’re here.

When and where can I access this support?

Tailored email campaigns will begin when offers are made to applicants. Events will begin in April 2024 and conclude in September 2024. You will be given methods to access this support in the communications sent.

What activities are included?

Tailored email campaigns will complement online and in-person events for all Widening Participation Offer Holders, focusing on topics and skills relating to students transition to university. There will also be tailored support for care-experienced students.

Are there any costs involved?

There is no cost to participate in activities or attend events on campus. The Widening Participation team can support access to online events and travel reimbursements/ pre-paid travel tickets to cover the costs to and from sessions.

Who is eligible?

Targeted students who come from a group currently underrepresented at LSE, as outlined in our Access and Participation plan. The Widening Participation team will contact eligible Offer Holders directly.

Cancellation policy

Please note that because of circumstances or events outside of our control (known as ‘Force Majeure’ events and including but not limited to industrial action, official government advice, fire, flood or other environmental or physical damage to premises), we may need to cancel sessions at short notice.

In the event of a cancellation, change of venue or date, we will endeavour to notify attendees wherever possible through the contact details given at the time of booking. For the avoidance of doubt, the School will not be liable for any costs you may incur as a result of any cancellation, change of venue or date.
