LSE undertake a variety of initiatives with young people across the UK, who have faced barriers to success in their primary or secondary education or are underrepresented at LSE or other highly selective Higher Education Institutions.
This webpage and the Widening Participation Privacy Notice explain how and why LSE processes personal data about you if you take part, or intend to take part, in a widening participation initiative and what we will and won’t do with your data once we have it. All data collected by the LSE Widening Participation Team is processed and stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act (1998), UK General Data Protection Regulation (2018) and LSE’s Data Protection Policy. You should read this notice, so that you know what we are doing with your personal data. Please also read any other privacy notices and requests for consent that are shared with you, for example photography or marketing consent requests.
You have the right to opt out of sharing of your data at any time by contacting widening.participation@lse.ac.uk. You have the right to request a copy of the data held about you by us; visit this webpage to find out more.
