Programme content
The MSc Economics and Management is a specialist degree combining disciplines from across two world leading academic departments at LSE.
The programme is highly selective and sits within a unique space in the MSc market, attracting top students who are looking for both the analytical training and rigour of an economics degree with the more applied scope of a management degree.
Highlights on the programme include:
- Students take a three-week pre-sessional course before the start of Autumn Term. This includes two weeks of teaching from the Department of Economics in maths and stats, an accounting crash-course as well welcome sessions, training, and events from Department of Management.
- Students complete an extended essay, an intense research project akin to a smaller scale dissertation, which they complete in the Spring before exams.
- The programme runs to a 10-month schedule, graduating in July, compared to the rest of our 12-month programmes. This means students have less than a year from arrival until graduation and allows them to jump straight into the world of work that summer.
- Students on this programme get a more intimate classroom experience, getting to know their teachers and classmates well across the year.
Year 1
The MSc Economics and Management has two core multi-term courses, one finance course, one extended essay course and two elective courses.
