Your Welcome Presentation will offer you an introduction to LSE from key members of staff. It will include information about the many opportunities and support available to you while you study. It is where you’ll find out what you can expect during your time here, how we can help you to succeed in your studies, learn about our values, and discover how we can support your wellbeing.
You can sign up to watch the presentation once you have completed online pre-enrolment. You only need to attend one session.

Title: Linux -- The Operating System of Freedom
Abstract: Respecting freedom is a fundamental need and value in a healthy society. This simple idea (users' freedom) lead to the development of the Linux operating system around 30 years ago, with numerous far-reaching consequences including resource-efficiency, sustainability, transparency, security, privacy, and versatility. The aim of this mini-course is to help you get started with Linux. After a quick historical overview, we will touch upon some Linux variants (so-called distributions), hints on installation and applications for common tasks.
