Haziq’s research interests lie broadly in statistical theory, methods, and computation, with applications to the social sciences. He is currently focused on scalable estimation methods for latent variable models, including composite likelihood and approximate Bayesian methods.
Haziq is an Assistant Professor in Statistics at Universiti Brunei Darussalam and a Visiting Fellow at the Department of Statistics at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He earned his first degree in Statistics and Operations Research from Warwick University, followed by an MSc and PhD in Statistics from LSE. Prior to his academic career, Haziq was a research officer for the Ministry of Defence in Brunei.
