Research

Nils’ research explores the nexus between finance and the digital economy. His research interests span the sociology of finance, financialisation, asset economy and the political economy of platforms. He is interested in a historicist study of finance that centres on identifying asset-driven inequalities. He has taken this angle to projects on the history and power of US  and UK venture capitalists, and more recently completed a project on the material political economy of generative AI, which has been exhibited at the LSE Ideas Festival.
