About the location
LSE is located in the heart of London and surrounded by many hotels with a range of options from affordable to high quality all within walking distance. LSE is also walking distance from many of the famous landmarks in London, such as the British Museum, the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden, Somerset House etc., and is surrounded by the main theatre district.
London in general, but the LSE in particular is very easy to reach by public transport as it is very close to two underground stations (Holborn and Temple) connecting four different underground lines, one of which is directly connected to the Heathrow Airport. In slightly more than an hour it is possible to reach LSE from Heathrow Airport and City of London Airport. LSE can be reached in about 90 minutes from the other London Airports: Gatwick, Luton and Stansted, using public transport. Eurostar brings visitors from France and Belgium to St Pancras Station, 30 minutes from the LSE. As it is at the heart of the tourist destination, LSE is also surrounded by a large selection of food options.
About the venue
LSE frequently hosts international and national conferences, and large public events. The Conference facilities are located in LSE's New Academic Building on the edge of beautiful Lincoln's Inn Fields. Opened in 2008, the building offers an extensive range of world class facilities including the Sheikh Zayed Theatre (400-seater tiered lecture theatre), smaller lecture theatres that will be used for parallel sessions for the conference, cafes, and a rooftop terrace with a spectacular view of the city.
