Ricardo Hausmann joined the School of Public Policy as a Visiting Professor in Practice in July 2021. He is the Director of the Growth Lab at Harvard's Center for International Development, and the Rafik Hariri Professor of the Practice of International Political Economy at Harvard Kennedy School.

Previously, he served as the Director of the Center for International Development (2005-2019) and also as the first Chief Economist of the Inter-American Development Bank (1994-2000), where he created the Research Department.
