Jay Seetharaman is a Teaching Fellow at the School of Public Policy, primarily working as Teaching Assistant to Professor Vanessa Rubio-Márquez. At the SPP, he helps deliver courses on policy making and the political economy applications for public policy. He also supports in the supervision of Capstone Projects for the MPA programme and Applied Projects for the MPP programme.
His policy interests include human-centred policy design, climate policy and gender policy. He is particularly interested in areas such as social protection, equitable access to education and labour markets, and financing climate projects in developing countries.
Alongside working at the LSE, Jay worked as a Senior Consultant at a boutique consulting practice and as an in-house advisor at a private equity firm in London, advising multinational clients on various aspects of international corporate tax. He was previously a consultant at a Big 4 professional services firm in London and Birmingham before commencing his postgraduate studies.
Jay has an M.A. (Hons) in Economics (with Finance) from The University of Edinburgh and a Master of Public Policy (MPP) from The London School of Economics and Political Science.
