Availability

This course is available on the BSc in Actuarial Science, BSc in Business Mathematics and Statistics and BSc in Mathematics, Statistics and Business. This course is not available as an outside option nor to General Course students.

Pre-requisites

Students must have completed Elementary Statistical Theory (ST102). This course is suitable for third-year students.

Course content

Students will produce a project involving a critical investigation and collation of statistical data on a topic of their own interest.

Teaching

This course will be delivered through a combination of workshops and seminars totalling a minimum of 11 hours across Michaelmas term and 2 hours of workshops in the Summer term. Students on this course will have a research week in week 6 where they can look up data sources for their assessed project.

Project (90%) and presentation (10%) in the ST.
