Progression and upgrade requirements (all tracks)
Students will normally be required to pass their first year modules with Merit or above in order to progress to the second year.
The research paper must be submitted in the autumn of the second year for the upgrade decision. The panel will decide whether to upgrade the student to PhD status by the end of MT, or require them to 'revise and resubmit', with continued advice from the supervisor, by the end of March. A final decision would then be made.
