This course is available on the MSc in Gender, Policy and Inequalities, MSc in Political Sociology, MSc in Social Research Methods, MSc in Sociology and MSc in Sociology (Research). This course is available as an outside option to students on other programmes where regulations permit.
Course content
The course introduces theoretical debates and contemporary issues in the sociological study of gender. Topics include femininities/masculinities; sexualities; nation and family; work; education; violence; transnational feminism; politics, representation. NB topics may change slightly from year to year.

Assessment
Essay (100%, 5000 words) in the LT.
Two hard copies of the assessed essay, with submission sheets attached to each, to be handed in to the Administration Office, S116, no later than 16:30 on the second Thursday of Lent Term. An additional copy to be uploaded to Moodle no later than 18:00 on the same day.
Attendance at all seminars and submission of all set coursework is required.
