Availability

This course is compulsory on the MSc in Public Management and Governance. This course is not available as an outside option.

Course content

Dissertations could be either a 'live' project with an outside organisation or a small research project.

Teaching

2 hours of lectures in the MT.

Students will attend a session in the Michaelmas term which will explain the objectives and requirements of the dissertation and outline possible topics. Students are required to choose a topic by the start of Lent term. They will attend lectures on methods in the Lent term Academic supervision will be available in the Lent and Summer terms but not after the end of the Summer term. Students are required to submit their dissertation by the end of August

Formative coursework

Each student will be required present an outline of the subject of his/her dissertation and the proposed argument of the dissertation in a session organised for all students at the end of the Summer Term.

Assessment

Dissertation (100%, 6000 words) post-summer term.
