Course content

This course introduces the research of leading LSE academics, illustrating the intellectual contributions to the school across the social sciences. Faculty from Management, Economics, Finance and Accounting are invited to present to the participants and share ongoing work. The course has an emphasis on research that is empirical, applied and relevant for business, with the aim of facilitating experiential learning. It includes visits to companies or particular sites in London and the City of London, illustrating the problems addressed by the research. Whilst the specific sessions vary from year to year owing to the availability of the companies that are visited, past sessions include a case method session on responsible investment at Bloomberg LP, research on systemic risk with a visit to a high frequency trading firm, and research on risk culture in the wake of the financial crisis.
