Availability
This course is compulsory on the MSc in Organisational Behaviour. This course is available on the MSc in International Employment Relations and Human Resource Management, MSc in Management and Human Resources and MSc in Management, Organisations and Governance. This course is available with permission as an outside option to students on other programmes where regulations permit.
Also available as an option to students on the MPhil/PhD in Management: Employment Relations and Organisational Behaviour.
Course content
1. Early debates: Smith, Marx and Weber on bureaucracy 2. Institutional Theory and corporate culture 3. Sensemaking 4. Materiality and the Performativity of Economics 5. Social Movements/ Corporate Social Responsibility 6. Population Ecology 7. Social networks - individual level 8. Social networks inter-organizational level 9. New Markets and product categories 10. Status and Identity in organizational fields
Teaching
15 hours of lectures and 15 hours of seminars in the MT. 1 hour and 30 minutes of lectures in the ST.
Formative coursework
Formative essay of 1,000 words.
