Jonathan White is Professor in Politics and Deputy Head of the European Institute at LSE and author of In the Long Run: the future as a political idea, Politics of Last Resort: governing by emergency in the European Union, The Meaning of Partisanship (with Professor Lea Ypi) and Political Allegiance after European Integration. His research interests lie in the fields of political sociology and political theory with a focus on European democracy, with focus on political engagement, partisanship, ideology, ideas of the future, the politics of emergency and the relation between social and political ties.
