We are pleased to announce that we will host this year’s London regional chapter of The Ethics Cup which will take place on the 16 December 2024.

The Ethics Cup is an ethics tournament for young people (years 11 to 13), in which competing teams face discuss ethical issues of public concern.  It is a collaborative discussion in which judges reward the team that best demonstrates the qualities of thoughtfulness, insightfulness, and civility.

The Cup has been running since 2018 and has been a resounding success, with dozens of schools from across the UK participating. It is a fun, enriching activity, which has been of particular interest to students studying subjects such as philosophy, religion, ethics, and politics, as well as members of debating societies.

Each participating school competes initially in a regional tournament, with the most successful teams advancing to the final (national) tournament at the University of St Andrews. This year, the tournament for the London Regional will be held on the 16 December, 2024 at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Registration opens in early September for the London Regional. Note that, this year, we will be offering training sessions for new teams, run by our judges.

To find out more about the tournament, you can visit the Cup’s website. If you have any questions, you can also email Lea Bourguignon or Adam Wingårdh.
