LSE Philosophy Assistant Professor Kate Vredenburgh has been awarded a UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship (FLF).

The FLF scheme provides long-term support which enables fellows to tackle ambitious programmes or multidisciplinary questions, and new or emerging research and innovation areas and partnerships.

The aim of the scheme is to develop the next wave of world-class research and innovation leaders in academia and business.

“I am deeply honoured to receive this prize. I am grateful to UKRI for the recognition and for its support of my future research. My research generally explores normative questions about social and data science, technology, and the economy. I plan to use the award to begin a new project about AI and the future of work.” says Kate Vredenburgh about her upcoming research.

UKRI Chief Executive, Professor Dame Ottoline Leyser, said: “The programme supports the research and innovation leaders of the future to transcend disciplinary and sector boundaries, bridging the gap between academia and business. The fellows announced today demonstrate how these awards continue to drive excellence, and to shorten the distance from discovery to prosperity and public good.”
