In a brand new LSE video, staff, students and graduates discuss our world-leading philosophy MSc programmes and give an insight into the unique atmosphere of the Department.
The Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method offers four taught master’s programmes: the MSc in Economics and Philosophy, the MSc in Philosophy and Public Policy, the MSc in Philosophy of Science and the MSc in Philosophy of the Social Sciences.
This unique selection of degrees reflects LSE’s distinctive approach to philosophy. As Prof Richard Bradley explains in the new video, “philosophy is conceived of in this department, not as a standalone discipline, but as an intellectual activity that should be conducted along with other forms of enquiry and in particular with the natural, social and policy sciences”.
By combining training in analytical thinking and intellectual rigour with a focus on the work of the sciences and on issues in the wider world, our MSc programmes provide students with an invaluable set of skills and the ability to excel in an incredibly broad range of careers (not to mention the chance to see the legendary philosophical rockers, The Critique of Pure Rhythm, live in concert!)
