This project focuses on the key generation within the Information Society, and a key dimension of their involvement with it: e-commerce, e-consumption. It will investigate the scale and scope of young people (16-18) engagement with new media and ICTs linked to new forms of economic activity and its consequences the quality of life. Investigation of changing patterns of behaviour will involve in-depth interviews with youngsters and an analysis of pan-European supply-side initiatives. Brussels will lead the sub-group on Living and Working in the Information Society.

I am attending the ESA (European Sociological Association) Conference in August/September, presenting EMTEL work. The title of my paper is 'Young technologies and young people - old methodologies?'.
