Philipp Gagel is an MPhil / PhD Candidate of the Information Systems and Innovation Faculty Group in the Department of Management at LSE.

Philipp holds an MSc. in International Information Systems and a BA. in International Business Studies from the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg. Additionally, he gained study experience at the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore as well as the Universidad Belgrano in Buenos Aires. In his master's dissertation, Philipp investigated how firms from different industries can collaboratively create innovative ecosystem business models for smart service systems. Prior to joining LSE, Philipp worked at McKinsey & Company at the interface of strategy and digital technology for over two years.

Philipp's research focuses on data management and governance.
