About me

Guohao Zhu is a Visiting Research Student in the Information Systems and Innovation Faculty Group in the Department of Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a PhD candidate in Innovation Management in School of Management at Zhejiang University.

His research uses qualitative and quantitative methods to explore how Institutional factors (i.e., Institution-led Market, public health policy, Government Venture Capital, Etc.) influences corporate technological innovation and how corporations respond simultaneously. He has published several research papers and produced some working papers focusing on this topic.

Preceding his scholarly engagement, he worked as a product manager in the AI healthcare sector, primarily responsible for designing AI diagnosis product systems and finding application scenarios. Driven by a profound interest in the AI healthcare sector, he has been conducting research on the application of AI diagnosis products in hospital scenarios. Specifically, his research focuses on hospital-level characteristics such as ownership structure and hierarchical classification, as well as institutional environmental factors including the high-quality development of public hospitals and the decentralization of medical resources within the framework of Healthy China. Building upon these findings, he explores how AI healthcare enterprises should innovate their business models to these contextual factors.

Prior to joining LSE, Guohao received a master’s and bachelor’s degree in management and won several significant scholarships such as national scholarship for graduate student.
