This project examines the role of a decade of austerity on creating susceptibility to severe consequences of the covid-19 pandemic amongst different communities in the UK. It uses the variation in the way austerity was rolled out across the country to identify the effect that this may have had in contributing to the observed socio-economic and racial patterns in covid outcomes.
