Welcome to LSE Law School

Welcome message from Professor David Kershaw, Dean of the LSE Law School

Many congratulations on receiving a place on the LLB at the London School of Economics and many congratulations on obtaining the grades to be admitted to the programme.  It is a truly exceptional achievement to have obtained a place at the LSE Law School, one of the world’s leading Law Schools.

The LSE Law School is a vibrant, exciting, and supportive academic community. Our LLB programme will provide you with an unrivalled opportunity to study law within the social, economic and political context in which it is produced and applies. And an unrivalled opportunity to study law within the heart of historical and modern Legal London. We are situated right next to the Royal Courts of Justice, a short walk to the Houses of Parliament, the Old Bailey and the Supreme Court, and only a short bus ride to the City of London, one of the globe’s most important commercial law centres.

I have no doubt that our LLB programme will expand your intellectual horizons and expose you to new ways of thinking about the nature and role of law, and, perhaps most importantly of all, I have no doubt that it will be a lot of fun, as you share this experience with new friends and colleagues.

This is a very exciting time for you, but also for us as we look forward enormously to welcoming the Class of 2026. I very much look forward to meeting and welcoming you to LSE in September.

Very best wishes,

David

Dean and Professor of Law, LSE Law School
