Eoin Jackson is an PHD Candidate in Law at LSE. His research focuses on the intersection between climate litigation, international human rights law, and corporate climate accountability.

Prior to joining LSE, Eoin was a Legal Fellow with the Institute for Governance & Sustainable Development (IGSD), an NGO based in Washington DC dedicated to ensuring fast cuts to non-carbon dioxide climate pollutants and other fast climate mitigation strategies. Eoin worked on research and drafting for amici briefs submitted to the Inter-American Court of Human Rights for its Advisory Opinion on the Climate Emergency and Human Rights, as well as on developing research and policy to protect the Arctic from further exploitation. Eoin also served as Research Assistant for the Harvard Program on International Law and Armed Conflict where he coresearched and co-edited a compilation of UN Security Council resolutions and statements on climate change and protection of the environment.

Eoin currently serves as Chief of Staff/Legal Fellow with the Climate Governance Commission, an NGO dedicated to the development of partnerships to advance and implement global climate governance reform, and as UK Regional Coordinator with Law Students for Climate Accountability, where he co-leads efforts to hold law firm’s accountable for their work with the fossil fuel industry.

Eoin has had articles published in the Review of European, Comparative & International Environmental Law (RECIEL), Hibernian Law Journal, LSE Law Review, the Irish Law Times and Sciences Po Law Review, essays published in the Harvard International Law Journal, Harvard Human Rights Journal, EJIL Talk and Opinio Juris, and op-eds published in the Irish Times, the Indian Express, and High North News, among other outlets. Eoin has also served as the Managing Editor for Trinity College Law Review and Managing Editor of the Dublin University Journal of Criminology and as an Article Editor for the Harvard International Law Journal and the Harvard Human Rights Journal.

Eoin holds an LLM from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (FirstClass Honours) from Trinity College Dublin.
