Dr Luke McDonagh takes up Lalive and Merryman Award Fellowship in Geneva

Dr Luke McDonagh has taken up the Pierre Lalive & John Henry Merryman Fellowship in Art and Cultural Heritage Law at the Art-Law Centre of the University of Geneva. The Fellowship is awarded to a scholar for the best article published in the International Journal of Cultural Property in the preceding calendar year. The award is for the article, 'Exploring “ownership” of Irish traditional dance music: Heritage or Property?' published in 2022. Dr McDonagh will be the resident Fellow for 15-25 September 2024 and will return to complete the Fellowship in early 2025. Dr McDonagh will participate in several research events in Geneva, including a public seminar on restitution of Ukrainian cultural property.
