Professor Emily Jackson (LSE) has published a new book, co-authored with Professor Sarah Franklin (Cambridge), entitled The 14 Day Rule and Human Embryo Research: A Sociology of Biological Translation (Routledge, 2024). This new work assesses Britain’s influential 14 day rule governing embryo research, exploring how and why it became the de facto global standard for research into human fertilisation and embryology. Jackson and Franklin argue that its influence and stability offers valuable lessons for successful biological translation.
