Dr Margot Salomon‘s interview for the new Opinio Juris podcast series, Fresh Squeezed, is just out. In a series that seeks to ‘push the boundaries of international law’, Margot addresses entanglements of international human rights law with capitalism. She presents the past, present and possible postcapitalist future of human rights and, drawing on her own research over two decades, situates the emancipatory potential of human rights within a wider turn seen in the social sciences: away from exploitation and towards community, cultural economies, economic democracy, and much else. In introducing the interview, the host Mohsen Al Attar remarked that ‘This was more than just an interview; it was an intellectual journey designed to broaden our thinking’.
