A minute in the mind of… LSESU Law Society Welfare Officer, Rheya!

LSE Law had the privilege of meeting Rheya, LSESU Law Society Welfare Officer, last week.

She recommended 6 things she does to help her mental health and wellbeing.

Rheya says, “these are just fun ways to de-stress:

 1. Have a ‘tech-tox’: put away your phone and laptop for 5 (or more!) hours. Have a drink, go for a run, to a play or read a book instead

2. Join a study group: Split your note taking – you’ll have less to read!

3. Start a 30 day fitness challenge: This website really helped me fit a workout into my schedule.

4. Set a maximum amount of time you can spend per day at the LSE Library (If you need to study more, a change of scenery can really help – I recommend the Maughan or Senate House libraries)

5. Speak to someone about your first weeks (back) at LSE: me, your friends, parents, the counselling service or a member of the law department.

6. Dedicate a day of your weekend to doing ZERO readings: the guilt free break makes your week more productive, I promise.

Please know that none of these are a substitute to speaking to a counsellor or to the Disability and Wellbeing Service (both of whom I recommend going to).”

Thanks Rheya!  Do you have any ways you recommend to unwind?  Let us know, email law.events@lse.ac.uk
